Jealous
Mom gets to spend a whole week starting today with this little angel and piece of heaven. I miss him TONS. and TONS.

My Buddy and Me!
Kellie and I took Tanner to the zoo a couple weeks ago for a spontaneous day of fun. Though Tanner is only 2, he can already name most animals and make their "sounds"- which makes it really fun. There's nothing better than spending a day with your sis and favorite nephew. Here are a few pics from our trip:
With the giraffes. T's favorite.
K and T by the Elephants
After seeing the animals, T wanted to play in the zoo park. He loved the slide!...
...and the alligator...
...and the egg...
...and he even convinced me to get in it...
{a word of caution: the egg is easier to get in to than out of!}
Best Day Ever.

Tulips
I was sitting at my desk on Monday working away when some bright yellow tulips caught the corner of my eye (probably because tulips are one of my favorite flowers). A delivery lady brought them into the receptionist and oh how I wished they were for me! What's better than receiving a bouquet of yellow tulips on a typical "back-to-the-grind" Monday?
Remembering that 8 of the 10 people I work with are women, quickly brought me back to reality that the chances were slim they were for me. Nevertheless, I still hoped.
Pretending to work and "not notice" what was going on, I nonchalantly watched the receptionist look at the card, get a grin on her face, swoop up the flowers and quickly shuffle over to me (with 3 of the other women on her heels). The women crowded around and admired the flowers, just like women do, as we read the card from Pete thanking me for his birthday festivities. I couldn't help but get a little teary. Thanks, Pete, for brightening my day.

Birthday Fun!

Last Friday was Pete's birthday. We celebrated by going to Tucano's (he served his mission in Brazil- hence it's one of his favorites) and then we went to the new movie "Earth" that just came out. Afterwards we tromped through the rain (hence the bad hair day pic!), ate carrot cake, and opened presents. Happy birthday, Pete!
